Mustafa Hafiz

Mr. Mustafa Hafiz is an accomplished executive whose common sense and investigative know how has assisted in securing lives and properties.  Hafiz is the founder and consultant for his own security company, University of Hard Knox.  He has worked with the various start-up security firms.  Hafiz served 12 years with the Metropolitan Police Department.  There he provided detailed executive protection on two presidential motor cages; President George W. Bush, Sr. and Bill Clinton.  While at MPD’s Special Operations Division he excelled as Fire Arms and Civil Disturbance Instructor, Physical Fitness Instructor for MPD Academy, and Executive Protection for the Mayor’s Detail.  Before joining the MPD, Hafiz served in the United States Marine Corps and Reserves for 10 years.

Throughout his career Hafiz has protected life and property, relegating risk and contributing to the growth and profitability of many firms.  He has more than 30 years experience in security and executive protection.  He has worked as Security Consultant for the National Coalition of Black Civic Participation, Inc. While working with the coalition, he traveled to many continents abroad, including Asia and Africa.  There he provided protective services to dignitaries such as Nelson Mandela and traveled the continent to places such as Japan, Korea, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Ghana and Durbin.  In 2001 and 2003 he was the executive security consultant for the World Conference Against Racism.

He has worked extensively providing executive protection to many famous celebrities, government officials, and dignitaries whose names include but are not limited to; Shaquille O’Neal, Harry Bellefonte, Debbie Allen, Norm Nixon, Denzel Washington, Wesley Snipes, Colin Powel, Michael Jackson, etc., Hafiz was business consultant for William C. Smith, Sentury Security, and Vance Executive Protection.

His most memorable and rewarding work is working with children and young adults. He not only desires to teach children about staying physically fit, he wants to protect them and teach them how to protect themselves.  In 2002, he was Boot Camp Instructor for Benjamin Mays Education Resource Center.  From 2001 to 2003 he was Boxing Coach and Security Consultant for the New School Development Charter School in Washington, DC.  More recently Hafiz was Head Physical Education Instructor for 5 years at Friendship Public Charter Schools in Washington, DC.

Hafiz’s interests include riding bikes, reading, and collecting watches of all types.  He has advanced skills in hapkido martial arts and is an expert marksman.  This biography provides some examples of how Mr. Hafiz has used his extensive investigative and security management skills to obtain measurable results in his various positions.
